The Power Of A Seed

!±8± The Power Of A Seed

The continuity of all terrestrial creatures that flourish the face of the earth rely on a tiny, little object, that is the tiny, little seed. A seed is a physical representation of what I call potential. When you look at a seed, you cannot see its entire self, rather, only a small fraction of what it can become. Nonetheless, it has what it takes to become the total physical attributes of its kind. In other words, a seed is an adult plant in the making.

There are many factors that determine whether or not the seed will grow to become what it should or not. The most potent is what it is genetically made of. An apple tree cannot bear orange fruits, and vice versa. And so goes with all other plants the world has ever known. Most if not all plants, start by being a seed.

These are some biologic transformations that seeds go through so that what is inside of them goes through and reaches full maturity and fruitfulness, by saying that I mean having the innate potential to reproduce and procreate. First, seed need good soil in order to have full maximum of growing and becoming a healthy plant. Without good soil, seeds cannot grow well. Just like human babies, sprouting seeds need as much nutrition and nourishment from the earth as well as protection from external factors that may potentially damage it. Next, seeds need the life-giving rays of the sun in order to have energy. Plants convert the energy of the sun into food so that they can essentially perform functions and processes that are important for their growth and propagation. Like humans, the sun plays a vital role in the life of a seed. Without the sun, plants may die of starvation and cannot grow and mature.

There are startling parallels between man and a seed. Man, in order to fully mature needs a long time of caring and nourishment both physically and emotionally as well as spiritually. The seed is buried into the gallows of the ground, in order to rot its outer covering and for the inner potential to come out. Sometimes man, before truly turning into the person that he is destined to be must go through trials and sufferings to become strong and sturdy.

The seed in the same way, metaphorically suffers from abandonment as it is left under the darkness. However, after the storms of life, slowly and magnanimously both rise up from their present circumstances to face life squarely, without fear and doubt, but only the strength from deep within and the faith that there is always a bright tomorrow for those who have through the darkness.

Inside each man is planted a seed of hope and strength that remains hopeful even in the worst circumstances. Inside each man is the power of a seed.
